Fancy, The Ghost Kitty

This happened back in the early to mid 1970s.  I don't remember exactly when this happened.  I don't even remember the cat.
Well my sister Linda had this cat.  Since I don't remember the cat's name I'm gonna call it Fancy, as I think it needs a name.  Maybe Linda will comment and leave the cat's name.
Fancy always slept on Linda's bed.  This one night Fancy didn't come when Linda called her.  So Linda went to bed without her cat.  Well later that night she woke up to feel Fancy jump up on the bed and lay down at the foot of the bed where she always slept.
When dad got home from work that night, he found Fancy had been hit by a car and had died.  He buried Fancy in the back yard.  He told Linda the next morning about finding Fancy.  That freaked Linda out because she knew Fancy had jumped up on the bed and slept at the foot of the bed.
Well Fancy continued to jump up on Linda's bed every night.
When Linda moved away from home after she graduated from high school, I got her bed.  She and her best friend from school moved to Arizona. At this point in time we were actually without cats.  Well the first night I was sleeping in her bed I woke up to a cat jumping up on the bed.  I thought this was strange.  I got up and turned on the light.  There was no cat on the bed.  There was no cat in the bedroom.  I was freaking out.  I finally fell asleep. The next night I was again woken up by a cat jumping up on my bed.
When Linda got to Grandma's in Tempe, AZ she called to let us know that they had made it safe and sound. I grabbed the phone and asked her about the cat.  That is when she told me about Fancy.  She agreed it was freaky, but wasn't anything to be scared over.  Fancy was harmless.
Wasn't long after that my sister Diane got me a brown tabby kitten.  I named her, guess it!  Tabby.  Such an original name for a tabby cat!  haha.
Well I soon discovered that if Tabby was in the room with me, then Fancy would not show up.  Or at least I did not notice her jumping up on the bed.  But if I went to bed with out Tabby then Fancy would be back.
I have been back to my parents home many times over the years.  I haven't felt Fancy jump up on the bed since I was a teenager.

  3. I just spent a week at my dad's house. I slept every night in that bedroom. If Fancy did jump on the bed, I didn't notice. Heck, I didn't even notice my cats Beaudro, or Mr. Lucky jumping on the bed.

  4. I'm thinking Fancy has moved on to the Rainbow Bridge. I last remember feeling her jump up on the bed in the 1980s when I was in high school.
