8/19/11. Adele & I went to Lincoln City for the weekend. We were staying at the Sea Horse Hotel. I'd been carrying my Kindle all around. I took it outside several times when I smoked. I'd carried it back and forth from the bed to the table in the room.
Adele was writing down all the things I'd been telling her about the different things that had been happening since Jeff passed away. After we were finished, I took off Jeff's wedding ring and set it on the nightstand. Walked over to the table where my Kindle was, picked it up and walked back to the bed.
When I opened up the cover the Kindle to turn it on to read, I noticed a white slip of paper peeking out from between the Kindle and the cover. I pulled it out. Imagine my surprise when I saw what it was. It had been carefully torn from an envelope. It wasn’t just any envelope. It was the return address of “Oregon Iron Works, Inc.” It had the whole return address. How it got there I do not know. The only thing I could think of was Jeff had placed it there to let me know he was watching over me. Adele pointed out that this happened right after I had taken off Jeff’s wedding ring. This was 9:30pm.
I guess it wasn't as carefully torn as I thought it was. But still, it is freaky. |
You should post a pic of the torn address paper to show how perfectly torn it is - you still have it, right?
ReplyDeleteYes, I taped it to the back of the kindle.
ReplyDeleteIt's not perfect but it's freaky that it had been torn out and placed in your kindle in the first place! Mind-boggling.
ReplyDeleteI still don't understand the whole thing. Where did it come from? Why didn't it fall out earlier? How did it get there?
